Start with the visitor’s first decision

Travel websites carry a lot of information, but visitors still make the first judgement in a few seconds. The first screen should make the destination or service clear, show a credible reason to continue, and offer one obvious enquiry action.

Design for a quick first judgement

On package pages, make duration, inclusions, exclusions, departure options and major itinerary points easy to scan.

Make the enquiry path easier

Keep call and WhatsApp actions easy to reach on a phone without covering the content. Avoid long forms before a traveller has decided to enquire.

Check what happens after the click

Measure form submissions, phone taps, WhatsApp taps and high-intent package views. That tells you which pages help sales, not just which pages get traffic.

A five-minute customer check

Load the page on a real phone and try to complete the main task without zooming. Check the menu, headline, package details, call or WhatsApp action and the enquiry form. Look for sections that repeat the same message, buttons with unclear labels and large gaps that force unnecessary scrolling. Then test the form from start to finish. Small usability problems become expensive when paid traffic is landing on the page every day.

What to improve first

Open the priority page for travel website conversion checklist on a phone and try to complete the main action without using desktop shortcuts. Fix the first confusing headline, hard-to-find detail or awkward form step you notice. Then check the same page with the sales team: the page should prepare the traveller for the conversation they are actually going to have, not just look polished in a design review.
